Fleas

Flea treatments for all pets is strongly suggested. If fleas are found during your visit, a fee of no less than $20 but no more than $40 will apply for a flea bath, extra cleaning, & fumigation. The Groomery does everything we can to prevent flea infestation & will not be held liable for fleas on pets after they leave our salon.

Matting

Dematting pets is painful, time consuming, & costly. Matting beyond saving will be shaved off. Dematting (brushing or shaving) charges may reach up to 4x the original groom price. The Groomery staff will never perform any procedure that will cause pain or spike stress levels.

Aggression

Owners must inform us of any and all behavior problems the pet may have that could present a threat to our staff. We will refuse service to a pet we feel is a danger to us or itself. We reserve the right to hold owners responsible for damage to staff or salon equipment.

Potty Accidents

Every pet should be given the chance to potty upon arrival & check in. We have designated potty areas around our entrance. Please pickup after your pet, we have bags at the front desk if needed. While all pets are walked again before a bath, excessive potty accidents can lead to a re-bathing fee associated with your appointment.

Leash

All pets must be on leash or in a carrier/kennel upon arrival, departure and during their stay at The Groomery. While we do not recommend retractable leashes, we ask you keep them “locked” at all times. Please do not allow your pet to run freely in our lobby or outside of the building. This is for their safety as well as the other pets in our care. We understand leashes can be forgotten, ask us for a loaner!

Daycare

If your pet is left at The Groomery longer than one (1) hour after completion, daycare charges will apply. Our hours are Tues-Fri 8 am-5 pm and Saturday 10 am-6 pm. Pets left after close may be subject to a fee of $1/minute. All late pickups must be discussed and approved at check in. We reserve the right to request to reschedule if your pet cannot be retrieved in a timely manor.

Cancellation

The Groomery requires at least a 24 hour notice for any cancellations or reschedules. Cancellations within 24 hours of set appointment or no call, no shows will be charged 50% of the grooming fee per pet on the schedule. Fees must be paid in order to book any future appointments.

3 no call, no show incidents in a 6 month period will result in termination of the client.

Our groomers are paid by commission. Meaning if they’re missing appointments, they’re missing their pay. We will have a zero tolerance for these incidents unless an unforeseen emergency occurs, in which it will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

Drop Off

Dropping off during our designated times is extremely important to the flow of our salon’s production. Drop off hours are as follows:
Tuesday-Friday - 8-9am
Saturday - 10am

We loosely run on a “first come, first served” basis. You will be asked if there is a specific time for pickup, and we are typically good at meeting those asks. We reserve the right to waive pick up times based on the dog load for the day, time of the year (holidays), condition of the pet, etc.

Pick Up

While we understand you’re eager to get your dog back from getting groomed, please do not show up and come in the salon before we call. Odds are, your pup is on the table when you come in. Most dogs will begin to act up and are unable to settle back down after seeing mom/dad/family. We reserve the right to end grooming in order to keep your dog safe. Injuries to staff & pets happen the most when the dogs are excited for various reasons.

We also do not allow pet parents to stay in the building while services are being preformed, for the above listed reason. The only exception to this rule is nail trim only services.

Puppies 2-6 Months Old

The Groomery will no longer be offering Full Groom services on a puppy’s first visit to a professional groomer. Puppies are extremely easily overwhelmed, and we like to start them slow to produce well behaved adult dogs. The grooming process is frightening and potentially dangerous for a wiggly tiny puppy. We will only be offering bath or mini groom packages for a puppy’s first visit.

We recommend puppies start in our salon around 8-10 weeks of age, and come in every 2-3 weeks based on behavior. We will do our best to keep your puppy with the same groomer in order to form the very important bond between groomer & puppy.

Holiday Weeks

Holidays are our busiest time of the year, as we have an abundance of pets trying to get in at the same time. Holiday fees will apply for appointments booked the week of the following holidays:

Easter
Memorial Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving
Christmas

ATTN regularly scheduled clients (4-6 weeks) - Fees waived for those appointments booked for the entire year at a time. Please ask us for yearly booking!
